part of Romney's problem was what he had to appear to support to get the nomination then tainted him too much with the small percentage of the population that might go either way.
He seemed to go from a reasonable moderate conservative but not very charasmatic to a less reasonable less moderate candidate in the primary to me. I think the necessity of pleasing enough further to the right than Romney himself to get the nomination may have actually hurt him in the general election.
I paid little attention to the primaries

All I noted was that each "contestant" seemed to climb briefly to the top only to have the media pound on them mercilessly. It was mayhem and I didn't feel I was learning anything about any their real character. I had no enthusiasm for any of them. It seemed a foregone conclusion that Obama could not be defeated and his opposition party was just picking a sacrifice to him and try to hold out until 2016. It wasn't until Romney became the clear leader that I started to look beyond the media crap to find out what I could about the man. It may be that his religion cost him a few points but not in the way I expected. It turns out that, true to his faith, good things he's done in his personal life and how many people he's personally helped is buried somewhere. He's never been one to want a camera to follow him around when he's doing charity work so that he can make political hay out of it. There are many stories of him dipping into his own pockets to help someone with a need but there's no official documentation. So what's the truth about him? I get the feeling he's really a decent man and undeserving of the vilification that he's received during this contest. I don't know if he'd be a good political leader but he'd surely win the confidence of business leaders which is something, IMO, we desperately could use about now. I have no confidence in Obama's ability to put together a partnership with business. His whole life has been spent talking about business people as though they are "the enemy".
I wish the man and his family well. It may be that he's better off not winning and can quietly do what he does best rather than be what he's not. My two or three cents.
(NT) Good point, Roger.Though the uncommitted are fairly numerous

From the Gore election and close defeat the Democrats were wearing previously???
I think it's possible that could happen in a few precincts

but a hundred or more seems a lot. Obama automatically gets 93-94% of the African American vote. He gets the majority of the vote from any low income population or those on government assistance. I don't count SS as government assistance, however. Obama actively pursued additional enrollment in the food stamp program this past Spring and there were quite a number who were ignorant of the program already living in poorer neighborhoods. So, you have a poor neighborhood in a 100% African-American community with virtually every person getting some form of government help being told that Romney will be in their pockets if he wins and, Voila! The problem is going to be finding out who didn't pull the lever for Obama.

......but "they" are not going back where "they" came from.
Ironic, isn't it, that "they" might still be there if "we" hadn't gone over there and forcibly removed "them."
Actually many others went there

and brought them over to sell. They were money lenders and slave traders.Of course they often referred to themselves as "New Christians".
Why do we let welfare recipients vote anyway?

I'd love to see all the polls placed in graveyards and cemeteries around the nation. LOL, I wonder how many superstitious wouldn't show up to vote? Also could check the names against the buried to see if anyone supposed to be buried there is still voting. This is a good idea you've come up with. In addition to graveyards and cemeteries and funeral homes, we could have polls also at police precincts, highway patrol stations, and military institutions, and only at other places if none of the above are in the area to use. I'm liking this idea of yours better and better.

for a week.
From a Libertarian perspective,I concede it looks like there could have been fraud.
It's also possible that the results are honest and genuine,in which case I say they have themselves to blame for the repercussions and they can stew in their own juices as far as I care!!
These progressive clowns must realize our industrial base can't be turned on/off like a friggin light switch at their will.
General Dynamics produces the M1 Abrams Tank in NW Ohio.(Lima Ohio in Allen county). The only facility in the USA!
Honeywell Corp makes the Abram's gas turbine engine,Allison Corp makes the tank's transmission. Then you have countless other suppliers that make weapons systems, screws, bolts, bullets, etc.

If production is shut down for 2yrs as planned, the effect will be devasting, you're talking many thousands of jobs.
Then we have the Ohio coal industry which occupies the entire S/E corner of the state:

was given to the guy who attended a BO rally (taking the day off from work) and bringing his kid along (taking the kid out of school)?
Not that I don't trust the HugBO Post, but how much coverage and backlash did that rag give to the lies advertised accusing Romney of killing a woman seven years after her husband lost his job?

mandatory
Adjective:
Required by law or rules; compulsory: "wearing helmets is mandatory".
Of or conveying a command: "he did not want the guidelines to be mandatory".
forced
adj.
1. Imposed by force; involuntary: was condemned to a life of forced labor; a plane that made a forced landing.
2. Produced under strain; not spontaneous: forced laughter.
"Our managers communicated to our workforce that the attendance at the Romney event was mandatory, but no one was forced to attend,"
Obama's ad said they were "forced" to attend THAT was wrong to say that....Obama's ad should have said Their employer said "it was mandatory for them to attend."
Does that make you feel better.
Would it make you feel better as a voter, viewing the ad, truth in advertising and all?
You're not forced to attend, it's mandatory to attend.
When I was working it was mandatory to wear a safety helmet....They didn't "force me" to wear a helmet...IF I didn't wear a helmet...I didn't have a job. BUT they didn't force me.
