Secondly, the GOP admits Romney/Ryan last because of the combined impact of hispanic, African-American, gays, pissed off white men and anrgy women voters.
One individual being interviewed (there were four white men and four white women) added another faction of voters, described as the portion of Obama supporters who (not verbatim but right on point)were the lowest of the low (now who might those be?)
Third, when asked how to bring those described above over to the Tea Party and GOP before 2016, one astute gentleman adamantly stated "we need to find out what these people want, appeal to their values, like hispanics....they're big on family values....we cannot give them amnesty though or a short cut to citizenship, but there's a way to bring them across"' (not verbatim but 100% on point); they went on to say they've got to figure out what would appeal to these voters.
Don't you think they would have tried that BEFORE running Romney in 2012, propping up a big, rich, white guy with no tax returns, no domestic or international platforms other than keeping the rich rich, putting the rich in charge of creating jobs, letting the rich run Wall St., calmly sweeping the 47% under the rug.......then acting surprised, no, SHOCKED that hispanics, African-Americans and everyone else he insulted or threatened voted for Obama.
If that press conference reflects where the GOP stands right now, confused, out-of-touch, bouncing off the walls inside their bubbles, it will be a long time before Republicans are capable of selecting the right guy (or gal, God forbid) to run for President and then orchestrating a campaign that willget a Republican elected Presdent.
For the Americans who wonder why struggling, unemployed, retired and slave to fixed incomes ordinary Americans would vote for Romney even though they said they did not trust him, did not know what he stood for, tell us what you think of this answer, from a 70 year old Christian, white female whose 72 year old husband still has to work to put food on the table, when I asked her why she voted for Romney:
"I think Obama has done some good, but I'm not going to spend another 4 years letting a black man tell me what to do".
I'd say at least 90% of the people I questioned ON election day said they voted for Romney because he was white. Last question was: how wuld you have voted if Romney was hispanic?
They adamantly stated in a variety of was, some not so nice, they never ever would vote for a black man for any position on a ballot. "Most especially for President" a older woman interjected.

IF the country has actually slid backwards into being divided by race, you can actually blame him and the way he ran his campaign this time.

Looking for racial evidence is its own form of racism.

in either crowd? Is race the most important demographic? I don't think so. Each has it's own subsets as well. What's the purpose of eyeballing a crowd other than to separate by race and (possibly) gender? Does that tell you what you need to know about that person's thinking or reasons for being there? Those who'd answer "yes" is suspect of being racist, aren't they? Of course in the media and political pundit trades, it's important for racism to remain alive.

What I calculate is that Romney carried about 7-8% of black voters. Obama carried 43% of white voters according to

Note that the Hispanic vote, though showing greater support for Obama, was not as sharply divided.

Do you think these show racial implications? If so, and if such characteristics are undesirable, which race appears to be the biggest offender?

I'm commenting on the statistics and asking for other people's impressions of what they mean.

he and I were the only two people in the elevator. Can't help you there. The names of early voters are known but not who they voted for unless buttonholed at the exit door. Still the knowledge is valuable to campaign teams. Knowing who has voted allows them to waste no more time on them. This allows their ground team's final assault to only knock on the doors where the might find people who have not voted...and pester the heck out them. I know...been there. After I voted early, the knocks on the door were only people looking for my wife...none of them were police.

Sadly, I expect little to change, obstruction by several fractions. Nothing will be "fixed" it'll be temporary patches to kick the can down the road.

We're living on it now. When will it burst or do we even care? I think it was a mistake on Romney's part to try to score with voters in regard to handing off our debt to our children. There are enough voters who are such awful parents that they could easily tip an election. They don't take care of their kids anyway. Why would they feel bad about dumping their debt on them?

deliberately have more children to get more money, which is one reason we should limit the number of children they can collect welfare on. That considered, is it surprising they would also like to spend those kids and our kids futures also on themselves?
