Where are your facts? Where is there any evidence that a man whose story has proven to have several serious holes in it is anywhere being deprived of due process. It has also been proven that the Zimmermans were playing illegal games with his defense fund, which is suspicious on its face.

Due process is what Justice is all about. The fair and impartial, as far as that is achievable, hearing of evidence. I see nothing here to suggest a kangaroo trial, or the proceedings of Nazi courts, or Soviet ones for that matter.

The judge can also set aside a verdict, and let him go free despite a jury conviction. Though appeals are likely in that case.

In deference to Mark Flax, I will refrain from other comments, as hard as that is to do.

And here the judge admits his own lie

the judge said. "It is entirely reasonable for this court to find that, but for the requirement that he be placed on electronic monitoring, the defendant and his wife would have fled the United States with at least $130,000 of other people's money."

The judge acknowledges that he was basing part of his bond decision "on other people's money".


When I read your post I read/see

the Judge saying IF he hadn't put electronic monitoring on Z there was a good chance that since Z had access to 130K, he would have left. Z and wife WERE moving money around. Paying his credit cards off...Legal Defense?, he's lucky his pants didn't catch fire.

The other line is speculation BY YOU.

wanderings in his own musings which ignore the obvious in favor of what he either wants to believe or has been bamboozled by the prosecutor to believe, sort of the way some here make up stuff devoid of any factual basis.

Nobody pays off credit cards if he's planning to flee the country, he keeps as much cash as he can.

and expect to be gone a while or maybe forever, I'm taking more than 150k with me and never would I use a credit card while on the run. Disappearing is a lot more expensive these days.

By refusing to post bond and remaining in jail, while having his attorney and supporters blast the judge and the system openly in the press, I believe Zimmerman could eventually get a bond reduction. I've seen it done, where the person in jail refused to post bond, but on less criminal charges, and they lowered the bond once they discovered he wasn't going to bond out. It's a racket, it's money, there's all sorts of kickbacks involved that goes unseen and don't fool yourself into believing its not about the money.

Zimmerman (and/or his wife) lied about how much money they had, and he had two valid passports of which only one was turned in. That made him a flight risk. THAT is why the bond was set so high. There is nobody to blame for that but the Zimmermans.

I guess it wasn't as impossible as some thought.

...if he'd have paid the first bond amount, THEN raised the funds he did, they'd not have required a higher bond. Those funds were placed in a hands off escrow account too. That, along with him complying with the court more than anything, shows the deck is being stacked against him.

It allows you to pretend that what actually happened didn't.
