Car rental awareness..be alert on returns

It seems car rental cos. have found a new way or really hitting hard to "upkeep/repairs" of rentals. Its not that it wasn't present before, but more than ever car rentals are becoming very costly. the simple dings or even minor damage that one can expect sooner or later to car ownership is coming a "cash cow" of revenue to the rental cos..
I'm sure many are aware of returning a rental with a full tank of gas, but if you don't "blam, a fee". It may need only $20 of gas or so, but there can be a $50 fee to refill billed to you, then or later. A minor ding, can cost well over $100. On top of that if you're NOT checking the rental before you leave the lot, you're stuck with any prior damage. Here, you can contest that, but often enough someone pays, you or your company, etc.. Further, if the rental has some "monitoring device" that too can place a fee for speeding or outside determine range of rental area if not covered by agreement. It's not that some fees occurred aren't legitimate by rental cos.. are using the rental agreement clauses to try to get more funds out of you.

Heaven forbid, you get into an accident. Did you understand the full contract agreement? So, be careful renters. adios -----Willy ![]()
