We do need to eat, get to and from work, etc. It's the everyday living expenses that count to most people I know...as well as to myself. I'd hate to think that houses and other big ticket items that affect only a few are allowed to bias the numbers for all but what you say could be true.

You see, governments tell the third lie by using the statistic that is most beneficial to them. In the case of American inflation, the lie is the use of the "core CPI" - which excludes food and energy prices - as the basis for Cost of Living Adjustments. With those two items included, the inflation rate here is closer to 10%.

The U-3 rate is the one that makes the pages, broadcasts and webpages of the Great American Leftmedia. However, the U-6 index, which is as accurate a measure as the Federal government is willing to give us, is a staggering 14.8% in May. Since all these indices are almost invariably revised downward within two months of their issuance, I'll assume that the data is even worse than it appears. A much better gauge of what's happening on the ground is the Labor Force Participation Rate, which tracks the percentage of Americans actually employed or actively seeking employment. Note the sharp decline from January 2009 to the present - a fact that the government's third liars haven't yet been able to obfuscate.

Being a devils advocate here...f I was to nit pick the whole affair, I would be questioning whether the President actually has the power to do this, if it goes against current immigration law.

The idea being that law trumps policy.

if you look at some of the figures that have been given over the last couple of years.....He's making the claim that his administration has deported more than Bush did; however, he is including in those numbers the total of illegals that have SELF deported because of the jobs not available now and the economy. They got to where they couldn't afford to live here any more than legals can.

many government officials in states that had record numbers of illegals, that number is way down because many illegals have voluntarily left the country due to the economy....granted some have relocated to other states due to state crackdowns via bills passed by those states which are being challenged by BO's attorney general in the courts. However, the majority of those being deported by BO are criminals, just as they were with Bush, because ICE was given the directive by BO, and never by Bush, to NOT deport other illegals that WEREN'T criminals with current records or warrants.

BO's own statistics show that there are more than 10M illegals here right now, and that's close to the same number that were here during the Bush administration. If BO's numbers representing 1.5M already deported that have criminal records, then the number should be closer to 8.5M by now. If you then consider that States are reporting many illegals have self-deported, that number should be far less....somewhere around 6.5M......so why is BO's number still more than 10M???? Perhaps it's because more CRIMINALS have come across the border that hasn't been protected as well as he brags about??? Considering that even criminals have to spend money to exist (food, rent, cars, gas, etc.), I guess if it adds to our economy it's okay until they get caught, right?

Another question.....if there are approximately 6.5M illegals still here that aren't criminals, and he just gave work papers for between 500,000 and 1M aged 16 to 30, how many over 30 and under 16 are here, how long before he issues another Executive Order granting relief to those over 30 in order to put THEM into the unemployed but looking for work statistics to buoy up his numbers and give those under 16 and their parents more 'share the wealth' entitlements?

He was given promises of cuts in spending by the Dems if he agreed to the amnesty. He did his part first and the cuts never came because Democrats LIE and have no honor among thievery of the taxpayers. Republicans refuse to fall for the same crap anymore, which is why budget/deficit spending isn't anything that gets cut....Dems want to spread it out over a ten year or more period of time instead of quickly which leaves it open to future Congresses to change it all back.

Bush tried to get immigration reform and it was defeated, if you recall. I've never said that Republicans weren't for reform....I've said that they won't make deals with the Devils and get backstabbed again.

As for the MA healthcare program....Romney has stated that it should be left to each State to decide what is best for their state, not the Federal Government to mandate it. There was one statement that Romney made long ago where he indicated he would like it see something 'similar' to MA done on a Federal level, but he has also since then 'evolved' into realizing that it would NOT be good for the Feds to control something like that. Just as BO has 'evolved' regarding gay marriage. It takes time sometimes to realize that not every idea is a good one.

I'm saying perhaps Romney should get a pass for 'evolving' regarding his idea back then, just as BO got a pass on his two or three time 'evolutionary' thinking on gay marriage. Romney evolved once, Bo evolved a couple of times depending on whose vote he needed.
