They just don't agree with liberals/Democrats that this is technology that taxpayer funding/investing should be involved in.....government has been trying to push solar for over 40 years, but the consumer can't afford it so they aren't buying it. Romney agreed early on that government funding shouldn't be used for it, but the funds were already allocated for it before he took office so he allowed it at that time and even praised the technology but steadily held fast to his belief that only private funding/investment and loans should be used to promote and further it. The biggest things holding this technology back in this country are permits, regulations, and unions in many cases driving the cost up to where there is no way to compete with China and other countries where none of those are an issue. In China, if a product is going to be manufactured, it can be done, start to finish, in about a year or less, including building the building, getting equipment in place, hiring workers, and getting it to market....in the USA, it takes around five years total to accomplish the same thing because of all the hoops businesses have to go through.

.....no environmental concerns at all, and slave labor.

I don't think we should be using a communist country as our benchmark for manufacturing, but maybe that's just me.

......keep our air and water clean, and prevent birth defects, illness and who knows what else. Think about what was being dumped into the air, water and ground before those "restrictive regulations" were put in place. Maybe you liked having rat parts in your canned veggies but I prefer them rat part-free.

While they are rare north of88 degrees, there is evidence that they range all the way across the Arctic, and as far south as James Bay in Canada. They can occasionally drift widely with the sea ice, and there have been anecdotal sightings as far south as Berlevag on the Norwegian mainland and the Kuril Islands in the Sea of Okhotsk.

I don't think ships used to navigate "through the Antarctic", they travel "around the Antarctic".

A new study by NASA scientist Joey Comiso has found that the oldest and thickest Arctic sea ice is disappearing at a faster rate than the younger and thinner ice at the edges of the ice cap. The rapid disappearance of older ice makes the Arctic Ocean's sea ice cap more vulnerable to further decline.

Arctic multi-year ice "extent"—which includes all areas where at least 15 percent of the ocean surface is covered by multi-year ice—has been vanishing at a rate of -15.1 percent per decade, Comiso found. Over the same period, the "area" covered by multi-year ice—which discards open water among ice floes and focuses exclusively on regions that are completely covered—has been shrinking by -17.2 percent per decade. The findings were published in February 2012 in the Journal of Climate.

Of course these reports are from 2012 unlike your report from 2002, 2012...that's the year that we are in now.

however, this article also mentions Antarctica and the penguin population, in addition to showing that the ice in the Arctic-Bering Sea thickening despite alarms otherwise and that the polar bear population is doing just fine.

Conservation officers say there is a correlation between the time bears spend on land and conflicts with humans.

Every year, several hundred animals come ashore when the last of the sea ice melts in July, usually spending four months on land before the sea ice re-forms and the bears can return to the ice to hunt seals, their primary source of food. But swiftly melting Arctic summer sea ice, particularly in the past decade, is forcing an increasing number of bears to swim ashore earlier on the west coast of Hudson Bay and to remain for longer periods of time.

What would YOU do IF you were in the bears situation? (as a bear you would not have access to a boat to take you out to the ice)

I said the way YOU talked about them sounded like you were describing people who are far more in need than the bears but you'd rather argue about global warming and taking care of the bears than taking care of the people.

the Passage.

Yes, there has been some warming just as there has been for thousands of years but some of the Arctic discoveries (such as mammoths with grass in their mouths) indicate that the passage was even more open and accessible at various earlier times in the history of the world. The AlGore "manmade global warming" has been pretty well debunked using the "manmade global warming" alarmists's own data.
