Stop the George Zimmerman Armed Vigilante Acts
(will need to select George Zimmerman Acts)
First off, though I've not read the full text of the bills, they don't sound like something I'd agree with. I'd think that "concealed carry" should be a matter for states only and not have automatic reciprocal privileges but I don't care for the "Brady Bunch" using George Zimmerman's image or the shooting incident as an example of the proposed law's dangerous aspects. The man is not a convicted felon nor was the shooting incident part of any pattern that would show a propensity toward gun violence.
I also take exception to him being referred to as a "vigilante". By definition, a vigilante acts without regard to law or as a replacement for it when he feels law to be inadequate. By the mere fact that George Zimmerman had already summoned police and wanted to have them meet him when they arrived undoes any argument that he fit that definition. The term, in his case, serves to defame and not describe him IMO.
