Or didn't you bother to read the story and how this impacts our national security?
But then again, you trivialize every concern any US citizen might have over this administration. As long as it ain't you and Canada, it's not worth worrying about, right? And yet, somehow, you manage to stick your nose into every single conversation/debate/discussion here in SE when it DOES concern the USA. I'm still waiting for you to answer me in another thread where I hit you with about six questions regarding how Canada manages child labor on family farms there, etc.

I didn't ask you any questions about Child labour on American Farms...I simply rebutted your comments about the way things will be if/when legislation is passed.
The Federal Government allows for the employment of children under the age of 17 with the provision that work be "unlikely" to endanger health or safety.

I'd bet money you've never even heard about it.

You don't bother to post anything (until this particular link) regarding issues you personally have against Canada that anybody here Liberal or Conservative could discuss. My gripe with you is that you infuse yourself into every single topic regarding the US and its issues and laws as if they actually affect you and you do it in an antagonistic way (your preference). Yet when I DO ask how Canada deals with some of the issues we encounter here, you are very defensive especially if it happens to be a socialistic issue. You're quick with your sarcasm and criticism against anyone here who disagrees with policies in the US that are concerning to us.
And you're right...I never even heard of the issues you have with your link...probably because what happens in Canada, unless somebody gets vocal enough to complain that it makes the news here in the US, we wouldn't know about it. Evidently, either you keep track of our news regularly, Canada prints our news regularly enough for its populace to know about it, or you see someone here in SE bring it up, you feel your comments carry some kind of weight enough to involve yourself in nearly every topic. Perhaps if you really had anything of importance to add to the conversation rather than nonsense and sarcasm, I would have more respect for what you add.
Since any source with Conservative or Liberal has got to be biased, what source WOULD you lend credibility? As for making a decision.....I haven't seen you make one yet. You just post nonsense and "IF" comments to antagonize.

it carries as much weight as yours or anyone elses does....
Has anyone in SE ever posted that something you said in SE has changed their mind about a subject?
I've read a lot of posts in SE in the past 6 or 7 years... I can't recall ONE person making that statement about ANY poster.
Some MAY have had their mind changed BUT I don't recall them admitting it, so how do you or anyone else know...unless they come out and say it.
So, I could have changed some peoples mind...just as you could have.
BUT we'll never know because no one will admit it.
Only happening in Canada, eh?

Well. If someone is complaining about an act/law the Gov is trying to pass...I would read the law....and try and figure out how it will affect me/family/friends/fellow country men.
Does that sound logical?
Yes

However, you discounted my link in this thread, why? Because there was no actual law that you could research, no. Because you considered what happened and figured so what if Russia has green energy batteries, yes.....even though the story itself points out that the technology they also acquired could be used to track our soldiers. So you put more importance on green energy batteries than our soldiers' lives and that US stimulus money paid for the technology that the Russians now have. BUT because the story came from a Conservative link, it isn't anything of importance in your mind.
Your logic escapes me. Would it have been important to you if this had happened via Canada's government and your tax dollars and a danger to your soldiers?
The tracking systems in military battery packs are designed to protect personnel. For instance, if a soldier stops moving, falls down or is running out of battery power, technology inside his or her radio automatically alerts a command center. The Navy said prototype batteries were produced but not used and do not pose a threat to U.S. military personnel or civilians.
But some believe the technology could pose a threat to national security, as it can be used to track troop movements or anyone who has devices that contain those batteries.
Let's say that a patent came with the battery packs...Does that mean the US can't/won't use the technology? I know I would...what are the Russians gonna do?
Let's say the Russians use the tracking feature...I wonder if the US could use it to track Russians....Wouldn't THAT be ironic?
IF I was Russian I'd be just a little bit suspicious.
Perhaps BO is smarter than you give him credit for.
Again, your logic

doesn't work because the US government already gave the contracts to Ener1 to supply our soldiers with those batteries. Russia now has the technology and could track our people. The Russian soldiers don't have the batteries (they could have them soon though for their own government since the buyer has close ties) so if the company hadn't been sold, the US could only track our own guys, not the Russians. The technology got sold to the Russian along with the company.
I'm just not sure I trust a spokesperson who says 'prototypes' were produced but not used.....after all, we just recently had a spokesperson speak for the WH (a general or whatever) who made the statement that Iran's leader is a rational. They say what they are told to say publicly. (Have you seen the news in the last few days about a Sgt that was let go with an 'other-than-honorable' discharge and lost his pension because he criticized BO on his facebook page?....we don't have free speech in the military here and rightly so)
And again, you post a 'what if' and yet you criticize me for 'speculating'.....

I'll try and explain it.
The Russian soldiers don't have the batteries (they could have them soon though
the US could only track our own guys, not the Russians.
Why not...the batteries have the same technology? If the Russians can track Americans why can't Americans track Russians
You say the Russians could have the batteries soon...what are they going to do with them?
Use them Themselves? and the tracking technology for their OWN troops?
Both sides have the same batteries and the same technology. America doesn't have satellites covering the world? that's what they use sat tracking.
Explain why one side can't track the other?
Ener1 is called

Ener1 TECHNOLOGIES.....THEY had the technology paid for by the stimulus millions they got. THEY got the contracts from the US Pentagon to put that technology into the batteries. All with the understanding, whether written or implied since we don't have access to the actual contracts, that the batteries would then be sold/used by our soldiers so WE could track them. Ener1 went bankrupt and sold the company to a Russian with close ties to Putin ALONG with the techology. The US doesn't HAVE the technology....and fortunately (supposedly) the batteries under contract were never given to our soldiers to use or the Russians COULD have tracked our guys. What the Russians do with that technology is now up to them but it was all done and basically given way via taxpayer stimulus money....IN ADDITION to the taxpayer being out that money.
I suppose that the people at Ener1 who came up with the technology in the first place could duplicate it for the US at some point; however, I seriously doubt it would be used in its original form and would have to be revamped so that it could be used in the future. None of that matters....what matters is that because THIS administration didn't have control over the sale of Eren1 and didn't protect that technology before the sale, the Russians now have it.

several hundred or more posts to get you to finally admit that BO and the Dems have been unrealistic. At least technology can be altered....even if DOES mean having to pay these guys a SECOND time to do that. Hopefully the US will keep the technology next time with the threat that if those guys sell it again they'll end up in a Federal prison somewhere under treason charges.

It's not treason. No laws have been broken.
You do realize there is no law preventing that from happening again, that's why it happened.
You have a prison with no prisoners...what about there?

Like go and hangout on Canadian forums and see if we can irritate the crap out of them on every Canadian issue, also compare the wisdom of US positions on world matters to the foolishness of Canadian, and so on.....
Wouldn't that be a lot of fun? Seems to be for some when done in reverse.

Canada and the United States enjoy one of the largest commercial relationships in the world with trade in goods and services totaling nearly $600 billion in 2009. Some $1.6 billion worth of goods and services cross the Canada-U.S. border each and every day.
And you're thinking of going to a Canadian Forum?....
I suggest you do some research before you make any posts there...
They'll have you for lunch.
