Post misplacement issue

I think I've figured out why some posts end up going back to under the original post of a thread instead of under the proper "reply" area within the thread.
If you reply to more than one post in a thread during one session, the first post goes where it belongs as a 'reply'....the second post ends up not as a 'reply' but as a 'reply' under the original first post in a thread (the original TOPIC post). It seems the only way to avoid this is to reply first to one post, close out the thread and then reopen it again and look for the second one you wanted to also reply to (the reason I say 'look for' is because once you close out the window, the 'next unread' is gone so you need to make sure you mark down where that second post appeared (say it's on page 2 or 3 of a thread if it's lengthy) and scroll to get to it.
This anomaly only seems to happen when you have a couple of posts you want to reply to within the same thread....and especially happens if you reply to the 'last' unread first before you go back up the page to reply to another post as an afterthought.
