Doomsday Preppers

Anyone else watched any of those episodes? I think it was on NatGeo. Ten thousand rounds of ammunition? They all stock up 10,000 rounds of ammo? Is that like some sort of rule with them?! What good is so much ammo if you and 4-5 others can only fire that many guns at one time? Where's all this shooting going to happen? While hiding in your underground bunker?!
Zombies? "Bug out"? Is there like some sort of doomsday religion these people all pledge allegiance to or something? They use the same terms so they must be interconnected in some manner.
Underground bunkers, years of food supplies, more guns than they could ever use at any one gun fight. Blast doors on bunkers. Lots of money spent on what's basically holes in the ground filled with ammo and food.
Is their fear even justified? Do they really believe the cities are going to empty out into the countrysides where many of them seem to live, just to come after them? Some of these people already live in desolate regions anyway.
It seems there's a whole industry catering to these people. It's like Hoarders but more highly refined and designed. There's a few who don't seem totally bugged out themselves, such as the ones gardening or saving heirloom seed packets, but even some of the seed savers go bonkers about it. Seed hoarders?
A big theme seems to be "when the govt declares martial law". Uh, isn't that what you want if you are worried about rampant rioting and criminal gangs going around looting? Who are you planning on fighting?
I hope they have fun from it, because I think they are wasting their time and money for most of what they are doing.
