and certainly for the women of the area, in my view.
But maybe the residents of the region are just fed up with the existing failed process of law, and have turned to Sharia law for quicker resolutions.
Possibly the Pakistani authorities could have prevented this by helping their own people sooner and better.

My subject line referred to the Taleban commander on the losing end of the decision. Under the Pakistani system and cover of automatic weapons they could cut through any farmer's land. Now that the decision has gone against them under the Sharia they wanted, they're making noises like 'rule of force' ... which is how they defeated the Pakistani army.
Bad government is bad government, no matter how it's colored; man can't do any better than this, it seems.
