Thur Noon - Update Fires in SoCal

Noon update from my daughter in Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village ...................


Hi,

Just wanted to update you on the fire situation out here.
It's lunchtime here now and I went along w/one of the girls here to get lunch for the doctor. Just down the block from us here, we're just off Moorpark road, there are two fire trucks sitting along with a couple of CHP's---it's like the CHP is ready to close the offramps to the 101 frwy. The trucks have their lights on and they have occupied one of the stip malls parking lot, just waiting. There's ash all over everything, kind of looks like snow falling, it's bad.

The patients are telling us that they are evacuating parts of North Ranch and Westlake area now. Kanan Road is closed completely to the ocean.

The only good thing is that the wind has stopped. Yesterday is was blowing pretty hard--my yard was a mess.

Anyways that's it.

Will keep you posted as best I can.
