Cannot read some emails in outlook

I'm using MS office 2002. When I tried to open some of my emails, I got an error saying "Can't read this item".

I restarted, did office update from Microsoft web site until there is nothing to be update but the problem is not solved. Does any one has any idea what went wrong? Thank you.

The correct error mesg is "Can't open this item"

Sorry.... the error message actually said "Can't OPEN this item."

Bob, thank you very much for your help. I'll try to follow those links. I'll let you know how it's going but it might be a few days from now coz I can't access that machine during the weekend.

I fixed it.

I finally be able to fix this problem. It's because the user has 2 entries for this account. One of them deleted the emails while the other doesn't see that change. So when we click on the deleted emails from the other entry, we got that error.

Basically, I just removed the account and the problem seems to be solved. Thank you for your help anyway. happy

I have the same issue whereby i cannot open some of the mails in outlook 2010 , may you please detail how these was sorted out
