Word97 Insert Control B

Is there a way to insert or type the keystroke Control+B in Word97? I want to insert the ctrl+B before a sentence so when I copy that sentence it will format it bold. Right now even if my sentence is bold the formating is not being copied. I am copying to an answer box in an online forum. If I use Auto HotKeys I can put in
{Ctrl Down}B{Ctrl Up}before and it works. So is there something similar I can do in Word?

I don't think so. Just type ctrl-B in the answer box before copying the text behind it. It's exactly the same amount of typing, I think.

In this answer box (if you turn the visual editor on) you can make text bold by the [ b ] and [ /b ] tags (omit the spaces!). You can enter those in any word processor. But it's easier to just select it and press the B-button.
