Outlook 2007 alerts don't show on Windows 7

On my previous computer running Windows XP, Outlook appointment reminders would come to the front of open applications like they were supposed to. Now, on my new computer running Windows 7, the reminders don't come to the front so I don't see them. I have been late for two appointments now.

Is there a fix for this? Thanks in advance.
