how to detect/find a date monitoring file

Please help....

I have an official software, which runs for 3 months only & after that I update the programme with the new one which again runs for the next 3 months. That means I get the updates 4 times in a year (for 4 quarters). Problem is, I get the updates very lately. Sometimes I wait for the update discs to arrive & situation becomes pathetic. There is no any option for online update. Also, altering the systems time/date doesn't make any difference.

So, I need to track or locate the file (of some kb probably), which is actually responsible for date-period monitoring. So, that I will remain working till the next update discs will come.

This would have to come from the author of said app.

There is no standard for such a system so as I didn't write this app I can't guess what method they used. My method is via web updates so your best place to ask this is the author or company that issued this app.

If the company is not performing most folk find a replacement app.
