MS Office 2010..just a trial?

Just purchased a new laptop & am a little confused about how the whole Office thing works.
It *appears* that it came with MS Office 2010, & that I need a product key to activate it. Is this the full version or a trial? And where *is* this product key?

Or am I totally off & I have to buy MS Office separately?

Sorry, but we don't know what you bought.
- It could be the full product.
- It could be the free Office Starter.
- It could be a 60 day trial of the full product

Luckily, the company that you bought it from can tell what they sold you.
