Graphics in Neo Office

I have been using Neo Office for several years.
Recently, I prepared several documents, with both text and graphics. When I returned to the documents to edit them, the graphics had disappeared. I inserted them again, and the same thing happened. This continued to happen.
How do I lock the graphics so that they don't disappear?

I hadn't heard of LibreOffice before. Is it compatible with Mac? If so, I will give it a try.

In the future tell more about the host computer and OS.

http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?nodetect does list Apple Mac, both Intel and PowerPC.
