Migrate to cloud: Evolving beyond outlook, desktop PIM, etc

by scottely100 - 7/7/12 1:50 PM

Hi - I'm hoping to get a discussion going here about the future of personal information management. With everything going to the cloud, I'm feeling tethered to my desktop with Outlook. And so much has changed (social media, etc) that I feel like a dinosaur being so tied to it.

Here's my current configuration:
1. Outlook for primary email & calendar
2. iPhone for mobile email/cal (both synced w/ Outlook)
3. I have 25+ POP email accts (I own lots of websites)
4. I have 2500 business + personal contacts in outlook
5. I'm currently toying with Batchbook for business CRM
6. I have many social media accounts, of course

So what's the future? I feel like I need a "Social PIM" or Cloud PIM type of solution that acts as the quarterback and pulls it all together. Here would be my ideal criteria:
A. Easily migrate my Outlook data & history
B. Email / cal from any browser, mobile app, desktop
C. Whatever I do from any of those auto-syncs
D. Not be some hacked together thing using Gmail, etc
E. Have the same user experience from all platforms
F. Integrate all my social media emails/posting ability
G. Work with a CRM system like Batchblue
H. Have functionality like ToutApp for repetitive tasks
I. Have social discovery like Xobni and Rapportive
J. Maybe even connect/sync to Evernote

With a little research, the best I found so far is Zimbra Desktop, but it definitely doesn't have everything and I don't know anyone that uses it. Does anyone have suggestions or want to discuss?
