Goals, objectives, tasks, Management Software

Aloha Everyone,

I am looking for Goal Oriented Software that would work in the follow manner. Basically, as a task is completed it is checked off.
As all the tasks in a milestone are achieved it is checked off. As all the milestones in an objective are archieved, it is checked off and finally, as all objectives in a Goal are acheived it is finally checked off.

So the breakdown is this:

- A Goal can have many objectives
- An objectives can have many milestones
- A milestone can have many tasks

Now it does not have to be exactly as described above, but something flexible that might work in a similar manner.

Open to any and all suggestions.

Seems as something that is easily done in a spreadsheet like Excel. That's very flexible moreover.

Formulas should suffice, but to programming some macro's should add to the userfriendlyness of setting it up and keeping the results of an automatic completion check correct when adding or deleting tasks, milestones and objectives.

I can dvise the tool for you as I am using this tool as well and this is Comindware task manager which is a great tool and what you like is that it is rather flexible.

i-list.it: organize and manage your tasks online

I personaly use a tool called "i-list.it".
The concept is that you create a board inside which you insert tasks or milestones, categorize them, prioritize them and mark them complete.
It itsn't exactly the thing you ask but I believe it could work:

A board is an objective.
On each board you have several categories, each being a milestone.
In each categories you have tasks.

You can then create several boards to manage your objectives.

Give it a try, it might be what you are looking for wink

So a tool which can simply do work allocation or task allocation along the teams. I figure that the points you have mentioned would want a tool which can share data along with teams, notifies the team members if there is check and alerts while there is an update. I recommend you to try CollateBox http://www.collatebox.com/ an online tool for sharing and managing task allocation along teams. There could be many other tools but I feel this one could be an ideal choice for you.
