LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2
When I create an email button in LiveCycle Designer & then try to use it I get a message informing me that it will
"...email a data file containing the data you type into the form.......the form itself will not be sent".
I experimented with sending anyway & received a .xml file, which I downloaded. It wouldn't open with reader x or acrobat, but I opened it with word & I'd got xml code, with the data I'd entered.
* Why does it do this?
* more importantly, is it possible to set it up to send the form itself & if so, how?
I've tried creating the email button in Acrobat Pro 9, but am having difficulties with that too (post in beginners forum "creating email buttons in acrobat 9").
I'm very much a beginner at this, with very little experience & teaching myself as I go, so if you're offering suggestions please keep them as simple as possible i.e. don't assume prior knowledge!

and perhaps with your other problem I replied to, it may be better to post your questions in Adobe's own forms.

That's the same what a form in a browser does. And don't you think it makes sense to only sent the data the user type in an easy to process standard format?

I think the form the data's submitted in depends on what it's for..............one of the forms i've been working on is a job application, so it'll be printed out at some point & therefore better in an easy to read format. If it was to go into a database then i guess that some other form of submission would be better.
I think Mark's probably right, adobe forums might be a better place to post questions about adobe products.......Duh! why didn't I think of that!
