I cant get the developer tab to function

I'm using office 2007 power point and trying to embed a YouTube video. I know to go into options, show developer bar, then go to more commands and find draw shockwave object. The problem is none of the commands will work, they are all "greyed" out meaning disabled. I've been trying to disable them and have had no luck. Anyone know what I need to do to use the developer commands?

Is this Office 2007 PowerPoint a trial version? If so some of the functionality will be disabled.

If not, has this ever worked, and if so, what has changed since then?

its a full version and that is how Microsoft recommends to do it

Not sure what you mean by that is how Microsoft recommends to do it, but if this is the full retail package of Office 2007 with PowerPoint 2007 included in the package then I don't see why it doesn't work.

I did ask, has this ever worked, and if so, what has changed since it last worked, either with Office/PP or with the computer?

I know that in some versions of Office, Word/Excel and so on, we had to allow snap-ins and such for certain types of technical work, so I went searching for "PowerPoint 2007 How to embed a video".

I found this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hChq5drjQl4

I didn't watch it all but I believe that I saw where the user had to go to Options to allow Developer Tools.

Have a look and see if you need to do the same.
