I tried out the site you suggested and again it has a link to d/l the OneNote trial, however again it d/l's the entire MS Office 2010 program, I guess there is no way around it. silly MS hehe

I just found a different version: of OneNote , 2010 and i was able to d/l a trial 60 day trial which gave me the product key.
the file name is x17-75058.exe and i got it from this site: http://www.microsoft.com/office/onenote-vacationplanning/
go figure, hope it works.
oh I just installed it and it is the entire MS Office 2010 Home and Student trial program with word, excel, etc oh well, i can get over it LOL

however if anyone knows how to get my original 2003 OneNote onenote.exe file working (like knows how to find the product key) I would like to use it as I am sure after 60 days I would like to continue using the program,
