Manage updates with the Download App
Looking for one that will convert scanned PDF's to editable word files. I am using SimpleOCR but it takes as much time to re format and edit as it would to retype. Is there a program that will keep the format intact?

But please note;
http://forums.cnet.com/7723-12543_102-550803/internet-connection-error-freeocr/ - It would appear this software is no longer supported, and a visit to http://www.softi.co.uk/ doesn't find this.
Also note the comments in that Download.com link. While it works for some, others have had problems installing and/or reservations.

This has been discussed before and the failing seems to be the line breaks. It's pretty simple, what's the difference from an end of line or a paragraph?
Besides, the PDF is usually the result of a document. I am encountering a few folk that forget and ignore copyright issues and convert such without any thought of that.
That is, if you need the original, ask the author for it.

...I wrote the document years ago and the original got lost in the shuffle. So now all I have is the hard copy.

The best I ever saw was 2 errors per page. Not including the line break/paragraph issue.
If you get that or better, what you have is very good.
