Word doc didnt save

I have been working on a document in Word and made some edits to it the other day and clicked save. I have not shut down my mac since then and I emailed the document to my teammate. He sent me an email back wondering why the edits werent done and when I opened the file it was the previous version not the one I edited. I have used spotlight to no avail and checked my files in Microsoft User Data and AutoRecovery. Is there any where else this could be located or am I just out of luck?
