Outlook 2007 system tray icon

Hi. I just updated from Outlook 2000 to Outlool 2007.
By default, Outlook 2007 displays an icon in system tray/notification area.
I am NOT talking about the icon that appears when there is new mail. This is an icon that merely shows that Outlook is running.
I would like to hide this icon.
I have been able to do this using the Properties options for the notification area, which lets me specify which icons to hide.
But, when you do that, there appears an 'open' dropdown to indicate that there are hidden icons. This creates clutter in that area, which is what I want to avoid in the first place.
I simply would like to not have this icon show at all, under any circumstances. This is a common option for many programs.
It it possible to do this with Outlook 2007.
I've googled for a solution to this, but I haven't found anything.
Anyone?
Thank you!
