Help - need to get into a Word password protected document!

Running newest Office for Mac (OS 10.4.3). Two years ago 16 year old son wrote a Christmas story and against counsel from Dad put a password on it. The story wasn't executed and now, two years later, it is needed, and he has no clue what the password was.
Is there a not-too-technical solution to this?

You pay for access such as http://www.lostpassword.com

While you may not feel it's worth it, many documents are worth getting into.

Appreciate your prompt post. Looks like it's about $65 or nothing. The story my son wrote doesn't warrant that expenditure, so I'll pass. I agree with you that such software is useful and reading about it was pretty interesting. But again, not justifiable for this use. And in a decade of computers, this is an isolated incident. And if unveiled threats work, it will stay that way. But now I know what to do if it happens again.

The story was never printed or e'ed. That would be workable, though, had it been.
Many thanks again! The son is writing a new story - it's a short story, so not a big problem and a good exercise. I may purchase one of those programs at some point however, as they seem to do much more than just crack a password. Someone at MacForums suggested this software:
http://www.abbottsystems.com/co.html.
It does quite a few tricks, but it's still about $65. I suppose the next time I have a similar issue I'll have to purchase it - insuring it'll never happen again!
