How do you remove a page break in Word ?

I have a document in microsoft word, and I am having problems with a page break.

There seem to be two sorts of page breaks, one that shows as a row of dots with the words " page break " in the middle, and one that just shows as a row of dots.

Since editing this document, I have a page break with the word page break where I want it, and 6 lines above this I have a row of dots causing a page break where I don't want one, but I can't find out how to get rid of it.

Can anyone help with this?

Highlight it, press delete.

All that happened was two lines of text disapeared, and the dotted line just moved to between the next two lines down

It's another form of delete. No go? Now do an Edit, Cut.

If push comes to shove the final method is to REVEAL CODES and delete it.

I am using word xp and have typed a document in a word table but it keeps inserting a page break so splitting the table in obscure places. I have to send this documet tonight and desperating need help to find out how to clear them. Regards Sue

Googgle that plus the version of Word.

Remember that the document formatting auto changes if I don't have the same printer as you do. This is not a type setting program. Sometimes I have to remind people about that.

Automatic page break

The page break with the text in it, is the manual page break (ctrl-enter), which can be removed.

The page break without text is an automatic page break. That just means the page is full, so Word should skip to the next page. If you want to print more text on the same page, you either make the page margins smaller, or use a smaller font, or use a larger size of paper (say: legal in stead of letter).

In my opinion, it's as simple as that.
