System Restore in Windows 2000?

We recently did a "restore" to a golf handicap program and it looked like it copied onto the hard drive but when we went to open "Scorekeeper" it gave us an error message and won't let us access the program. I thought we could do a system restore to yesterday and all would be fine but now discover 2000 doesn't have a system restore - what can we do?
