Win2K: "drag & drop" has stopped working?!?

My "drag & drop" has stopped working (Windows 2K), what do I do to get it working again?

I'm at a loss. I've never seen anything like this. I tried the simple route of re-starting the thing to no avail. It's not letting me drag & drop to copy/move files into other Windows folders, or even to programs... like photo editing software or audio programs like WinAmp. I even have the "open with" feature in the right-click menu, and it's not working either.

Windows 2000 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4.

I'd rather not re-install Windows like I'm sure some will suggest, and I'm not in the market to get a newer operating system at the moment like I'm sure even more will suggest.

Is there a quick fix for this problem?

Tried the Microsoft fix to no avail...

Google toolbar can cause that.

I did just add a 500GB external hard drive, and tried to share it on my "network" of 2 computers. I undid that, re-started, & it all seems to be working well again.

That's a good clue on this issue. I wonder if said drives had some SYNC software on them?

I just plugged it in, & it was there. Didn't need to install anything or crazy stuff like that.
