Need help with modem, please read

Hello,

I am having trouble with Windows 2000 detecting the internal modem on my laptop, so I have decided to get an external PCMCIA modem instead.

Can someone please recommend some PCMCIA modems that will actually WORK on a Windows 2000 laptop?

Please help!

But I will share that installing Windows on laptops challenges the installer (you?) deeply. I only know 2 people that can do an install of Windows on a laptops without much ado.

Your story is a little short about how the OS was installed so I write about installation trials.

-> In closing, any modem will be fine. They have warranties and if it doesn't work, you pack it up and return it.
