Can't connect to any webpags or Internet services

I'm at a loss here. My Son's iMac will connect to the internet using both Wifi and Ethernet, yet I can not connect to any websites or use any program which requires an internet connection. (Example: Appstore, iTunes)
Funny thing is, I can connect to my router settings with no problem.
I've been all over the internet trying to find a solution and nothing is working.
1. Changed DNS Servers.
2. Used Assist Me to diagnose, says its connected to the Internet, but still no websites load.
3. Tried manually entering all Network settings.
4. Deleted all network files and locations and reran network settings. Nothing.
Is there anything else I can try??
Model# A1224, Core2 Duo, built-in AirPort Extreme and Gigabit Ethernet.
I'm thinking it's some sort of damaged file issue, but I'm a PC tech. so what do I know?
