Multiple issues with Mac!

I recently updated my mac os x to lion to attempt to solve a mouse issue I was having (rather a cursor issue) About a year ago our mac cursor started acting up. Anytime we would transfer through different windows or move our cursor around the screen, the cursor would "jump" to mostly the "x" to close programs. At first it was kinda of aggravating then it quickly became a pain, almost to the point to smash the mac >.> It continually got a little worst then just started having its days where it would be worse, then be ok a for a few, then act up. So we looked up solutions and never found anything that would work, so our next best guess was to upgrade to Lion. Now the issues are worse than ever and new ones are arising. The main ones being the mouse and now anytime we are watching a video (youtube, ect) and we switch tabs then return to the video, it freezes the video but continues the audio. It takes 15-45 secs to "catch up". It starts by screwing up the video while it catches up, then the video is out of sync with the audio then most of the time it catches up completely. You can't just hit the spot you want to be and it go back either, it then just freezes. So you normally have to refresh the page and just never leave the tab for anything, beyond annoying! We bought the mac in April of 2011, I've tried both the mouse that came with the mac and my razer naga, same results. It also does the same stupid things in safe mode. Any idea on what to do? I'm about to sell it and go back to PC at this point -.-
