copying emails from gmail website to mac mail?

I'm having a problem with a new macbook pro. Not really a problem with the new computer, but I have a lot of inbox emails on the Gmail website and I'm trying to find a way to bring them into my macbook pro Gmail folder. I can't seem to find a way to send them over to my mac. I've tried marking them as unread, hoping they'll get resent to the mac. But nothing seems to work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
