Hey everyone,

Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and Happy New Year:)

I have the Mac OS X 10.6.8 and have installed Safari, Firefox and Chrome. I installed Chrome most recently (a month ago?) as Firefox was giving me lots of 'error, can't open page' on videos. Also, I started out w/Lion and upgraded to 10.6.8 recently.

My computer has noticeably slowed down. Everything. It takes a longer time to open or close a program when I am not on the net and takes a longer time to view videos on the net. I keep getting the spinning wheel when I hardly ever got it before. Unfortunately, I can't recall when this started happening or if it was connected to installing Chrome or upgrading the OS.

What can I do to find out what the problem is and correct it? Is there a program I can run to test my hard drive?

You could use Disk Utility to take a look at the drive

but it is only a very basic look.

How much RAM do you have in that, insert type of computer here.?

How much free space is there left on the hard drive?

I believe you are mistaken as to what version of OS X you have installed there.

Lion is 10.7 while you say you have 10.6.8, which is Snow Leopard. Wanna check that again please

You can remove Chrome as a test.

Your prior post said no techy stuff so that was the easy way to get flash to play videos without all the hurdles.

It's possible you installed more that Chrome and such things can slow things down. Why do you suspect the HDD?
