Mac Lion, deleted Admin account, need files off of it

Mac OS X 10.7

My father recently created a new Admin account, then deleted his old one, but didn't opt for it to create an image or save the files on it. Now he wants to retrieve basically photos, songs, and certain other documents he had saved on it.

Any ways to do this? He has downloaded a few applications that tell us there are files to be recovered but to do so we need to pay...

was smart enough to use Time Machine as their backup system.

Failing that, you could try the usual recovery tools to see what you can retrieve and, as a last resort, DriveSavers should be contacted. Be aware that the last route is not cheap!

Are you telling me you continued to use this drive and install more apps AFTER you deleted the files and folders?

Let's remind ourselves that installing any app and continuing to use this drive results in overwriting those files and even drivesavers will not bring overwritten files back.

Let's hope everyone knows to stop using and writing to drives that we need to recovery files from.
