MacbookPro 10.7.5 says printer not connected

I haven't been able to print wirelessly for a couple of weeks as the computer says printer is not connected. I have a canon multifunction pima 8210. It worked fine for the longest time, but can't get it working now. The printer itself says that it is connected to the access point. I have downloaded updated driver....but to no avail.

Delete the printer from printer list and then re-add it.

Usually works

I did what you suggested, but when I go to add printer, I can't get it to let me type anything in, and doesn't display a list of choices! Help again!!!

Connect it via the USB cable and see if it works then

if it does, that kinda rules out the printer as the problem.

Alternatively, re-run any software that came with the printer and re-establish the wireless network
