Deleting Twitter Search

My Firefox browser has suddenly switched from the usual Google Search Engine to something marked Twitter - which is totally useless. I don't use Twitter and never signed up for anything. How do I change it back to Google?

Tried several of the arcane supposed solutions at the mozilla URL above - none worked. Then I saw the very tiny triangle next to the Twitter field and clicked on it. It brought up 8 search engines, of which the top one was Google, which I selected again. What an easy fix, at least on my Mac!
