A friend's brand-new PC was hacked, and it sent a message about an "important" message from Google Docs to a lot of us. It was a very effective phishing message, and for the first time in my computer-using life, I clicked on the link in the message and followed the direction to give my email address (I blush for shame). I don't know Google Docs, so I thought that was standard operating procedure.
Anyway, that led to an ad for Remax but nothing else that I can see. Does anyone know anything about this? How can I find out whether my Mac (Macbook running OS 10.5) has been affected? And if so, what do I do next? I tried to find an answer but was not able to turn up anything.
I feel so foolish but not so much so that I needed to hide my fault from the rest of you. I also wanted to warn you all that this is going on.
Thanks for any help you can offer me.
