Converting files from pc usb stick to my new Mac

Could someone please tell me how to convert my pc documents that are from Microsoft office (for the most part) to Mac documents/files. Right now I am having to save to my email address and then pull them from the storage in it to my desktop.

They shouldn't need converting. MS Office for Mac OS X shouldn't have any problem opening them, and Mac OS X can read FAT32 and NTFS partitions, so you're going to have to be a bit more specific about what exactly the problem is.
