Why does Firefox 10.0.2 for Mac not work?

I had the latest Firefox 10.0.2 on my iMac and on many pages the cursor revolves forever, whereas Safari and Chrome bring up the pages immediately. I went to the Mozilla support forum. They said they would email me a link to set up a password but nothing has been received. I tried to download and re-do Firefox but ended up instead with something called TenFour Fox. It doesn't work either - displays "XML Parsing Error." What is that and what happened to Firefox?

I tend to not dwell on versions that don't work. See this link.

Since 11 is there (beta) as well as older versions why not?
