Need help pls (Startup Problem, disk0s2: I/O error)

Hi everyone, need some help here.

I tried to on my mac this morning and just like usual, the "chime" when off and the gray screen with the apple logo came out together with the spinning gear.

However today, it took longer than usual on the spinning gear and my mac osx did not startup and my mac switched off automatically.

I tried to reset my PRAM but this did not help.
I then tried to boot my mac osx in safe mode(+verbose) and I got the following error:

Looks suspiciously like a failed hard drive,

try booting from the OS X installation disks and going to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu at the top of the screen.

Let us know what DU finds, or doesn't.

Boot DU from OS X discs

however my dvd rom is faulty but i will try to look for an external dvd drive to try and run it.

I hope I can boot the OS X installation disks from an external dvd rom. "I read that I have to press "option" button" and select from the "startup manager" correct me if im wrong happy

Tried DU

I have tried DU from my OSX discs and I am not able to Repair my disk, only able to verify... did something went wrong? anyway this is the screenshot
