Overheating Early 2007 Macbook Pro (2.33GHz) and Quick Fix
by natep24 - 6/15/10 10:40 AM
For the last couple of weeks my mac has been really hot. Like 80-90C with no heavy load. Activity monitor showed that CPU use sat at about 50%, with no programs open. Looking at the list of CPU consumption in activity monitor did not match this figure (and was only at like 1-3%). My battery life was horrible.
I just cleared my ram (Reboot, hold option+command+p+r as soon as screen goes black, and release after the second chime) and now everything is back to normal!
Idle now is like 50C and the processor use is accurate.
I hope this helps someone!
