Disk Utility reports too many nested folders

Disk Utility when repairing said my laptop had some nested folders that when beyond the recommended 100 deep. But it does not say where or what. I know there must be a real physical limit, and i am having disk problems and what to eliminate all possible causes.

So how do i go about locating this?

And repair?

The nested folders should only be in areas of the hard disk that you have set up (eg Documents folder).
Surely you would know if you had set up nested folders 100 deep?

You can generate a directory listing that will show the contents of each directory recursively but I suspect in your case it might generatea large output. To do so, launch Terminal and type:
ls -R ~/Documents/
then hit Return. The listing is generated on your screen and you can search through manually.

If you know how to use grep then (I think) you could copy the output into a text file and use grep to count the number of solidus (/ characters) in each line. Unfortunately, that is beyond me so I would use the manual method.
