OS X 10.5.8 and Safari 4.0.2

I would like to update my 2 week old IMac computer with 10.5.8, but not update Safari.

As many of you may know who use Mac to tunnel into corporate systems and use Citrix, the Citrix Mac Client for corporate remote access has not been updated since 4.x arrived. I hear there is an update, but Citrix refuses to post it. There also may be a problem with the latest Java update for Leopard.

I really need help on how to proceed...any suggestions are very much appreciated, and I am fairly fluent with Pacifist, if that is a way around the issue.

Don't update until Citrix releases the update

Safest way to go until a method of not updating, or downgrading, Safari is announced.

reinstall an older version of Safari, after 10.5.8 install

Just reinstall an older version of Safari after your 10.5.8 update install.

Be sure to back up your Safari bookmarks and prefs prior to going up.

that the system will allow you to install an old version of Safari onto a machine that has a newer version?

Run Software update, select "show details" and chose those items you want to update. If you want to leave Safari update(s) out, there should be no problem.
