How to: Reinstall OS X on a new hard drive

HI. I want to reinstall OS X on my brand spanking new HDD. I went to the apple store and got the base model macbook. I then upgraded the hard drive and now want to put OS X on the new drive. I know you need to use the OS backup DVDs, but i don't know how. Do i only need to pop the disc in and follow onscreen instructions or is there anything more to it? Thanks for the help.

You will need the Restore DVD's that came with the Macbook

Startup the Macbook, insert Disk 1 into the slot and allow the machine to boot from it.
Ignore the installer and launch Disk Utility from the Menu bar
Initialize the disk as HFS+(Journaled)
Quit DU
Go back to the installer and follow the instructions from there.
Choose to Customize the install and remove ALL the lanuguages that you do not speak.
Continue on to the end.

Question: What capacity and speed of hard drive did you purchase. Be aware that the higher the speed the lower the battery life of your MacBook.

I plan on using a WD Scorpio Blue or Black 320Gb 5400 RPM Drive.
