getting rid of an unwanted wallpaper image

i was using express webpictures, a program that downloads any large number of jpg's from a designated website.

i made the accidental mistake of clicking a "save as wallpaper" or "create wallpaper" of an image. now, even after changing my wallpaper, this preselected image flashes for a few seconds at startup and shutdown. i did this accidentally once before with another program.

i tried searching for the file, but i cannot pull it up in a search.

any suggestions as to where to search? since this has happened before with another program, i assume there is a default folder that these images get placed in,,,,,and it's not web\wallpaper

After using Bob's procedure, which should help, make sure to find the picture and delete it if possible. Most saved wallpapers are saved as ".bmp" files, although it could be a .jpg. Do a search on the computer for "*.bmp" (without the quotes) and find the picture in question. Delete it if found.

In addition, some of these types of wallpaper pictures get saved as a file named "Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp". Do a search for a file name exactly as above. When the search is done, RIGHT click on the "Search" window, choose "Arrange icons by name". If found, double click on it to make sure that it's the correct file, then delete it if found. The next time you find a picture that you want "Set as wallpaper", RIGHT click on the picture, choose "Set as Wallpaper" and a new "Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp" will be created.
