How to eliminate the "Ah, Snap" message in Google Chrome?

Every morning for the last 2 wks I discover the "Ah Snap. Page is unresponsive" message (wasn't doing this before). It takes me 2-5 complete reboots(yes unplugging the pc) before Chrome will restore FB and Google. That is ridiculous.
I have looked up some suggestions to fix it but not being tech savvy and a bit of a scaredy cat, I really don't want to try and figure out how to turn off everything, including chrome and reinstall everything one by one.
I found one solution given at "Dummy Essentials" which seems easy enough. They suggest adding a space-no-sandbox right after the chrome.exe in the dialogue box of Documents and Settings. However, I have no idea what "space-no-sandbox' means or really does, I am reluctant to try it.
They also recommend downloading TDSSKiller.exe from Kaspersky Lab, installing it and then run it. Are either of these options safe? What will they do to all the other apps & programs on my pc? I sure hope you can help me.
