I have an (attempted) pc network with an HP Pavilion as base station.
My modem/router is Motorola rented from my local cable company.
My network computers are an Asus netbook, and an elderly Dell Dimension 5150 both with functioning network adapters.
I cannot connect to the network using either of my network PCs.
The local techs from my cable company have set up the HP base station to access the Internet without too much difficulty (sometimes I have to resign into this website for some unknown reason).
However, I do not have internet access from these machines. The local techs have no answers for this dilemma.
I believe that my problem is running Win 7 on the base machine, while Win XP is running on the two network units.
I have only checked about 20 out of 1850 posts on this subject; don't know how to narrow my search further.
Am running SP3 on both network machines. NIS is loaded on both of these machines, as well as the base computer, which has internet access.
This system worked initially, then failed to work; no changes were made to network machines during this time.
Visual Editor will not work for me on this website, even though turned on. Perhaps this is significant.
Any and all comments would be appreciated, as my computer education continues.
