Unused RAM is wasted RAM. In other words, if we were able to have 50% free memory at all times, why not reduce the amount of memory in the PC and lower its cost?

This area is well discussed. Windows should use as much RAM as possible, even if for a trivial reason.

I guess your'e right. My other laptop has i3 and 4 gigs of RAM as well and stays within the 50-60% usage with couple of chrome cards open and a messanger program. So it's normal, that now I have opened Chrome and have Samsun AllShare, Skydrive and messanger program in the background with 63% of "eaten" RAM?

RAM is faster than any disk drive.

I'm going to be repeating a lot of prior discussions so I hope I don't offend you with the distilled lines.

There are apps to "free RAM" but if you want to slow the system in favor of free RAM, that's your choice. The concept of free RAM applied to Windows versions prior to Windows 2000 and XP. Back then it mattered as there were some DOS under the hood and 32 or 64 kilobyte memory pools that you had to keep free RAM or the OS would choke or crash.
